Here is the final post regarding Christmas-presents which I made. It largely concerns those which I made for my Worthy Mother and Worthy Father, as well as my trusty and well-beloved brother.
The above picture is a manu-script which I gave to my mother. It signifies the old walking-song from LotR. I decorated the borders with some mystifying illustrations of Hobbit-holes, &c.
Also for Mother, I fashioned some nifty hand-warmers out of a felted-waistcoat.
I made Father some finger'd gloves out of a similar but different material- Felted Sweater. I arrived at the pattern of these gloves by much experimentation, as well as by examining some boughten gloves.
I made Jonathan a mystifying false wooden-pipe of a Hobbitish style.
After putting the stem of the pipe into boiling water, I endeavored to curve it by means of a piece of wood and some nails. Afterwards I inserted the stem into the carven bowl.
Alas, it does not really work, as there is no hole drill'd thru the stem.
Also for Jonathan, I made some rather long gauntlets out of wool.
Here is an interesting picture of these whilst they were in the making:
The above picture actually shows all the pieces needed to make one glove.
For Dad, I made also a replica of a certain item mentioned near the beginning of FotR (the book).
It is the "Tall, shapeless felt bag, which he called a hat."
I made Jonathan a handy grip-sack out of canvas and several old belts.
Here is a picture explaining the construction of the straps thereof, which were padded with felted-wool:
This knapsack may come in handy for carrying school-books.
For my mother, I made an icon by using acrylic paint:
I rather imitated this icon from one in a book (more or less).
I also made a smaller icon for Worthy Father, also from the same book:
Thus concludeth the descriptions of the various gifts. Here is a picture of the bang lot of them strewn o' the floor:
I was very greedy this year, as I made three presents for everyone, resulting in a total of twenty-four presents.
Thus concludeth this small series of present-posts.
