So the five older children went out with Dad to the symphony and I'm left home with the littles. After trying in vain to get the floor mopped, I gave in to Eliza's begging for 'animal song', her current favorite ditty. But after four plays I needed a little diversity, so I searched for 'children', hoping to find another video that would please Eliza. But instead I found this. Have you ever gotten sucked into You Tube (do be careful visiting there)? You know how one song can instantly transport you, whirring you helplessly back through the decades and you find it's kind of fun to hang around back there just for a bit. Didn't Danielle recently remind us what it's like to Feel the Music? So I listened to this and then this (Harry would have liked homeschoolers, no?). I figured, everyone else was out enjoying music. So I indulged in some of this and this (Jonathan used to bang on a toy piano while his parents listened to that sort of thing.) By then everyone came home and Michael and I enjoyed going back to our dorm rooms and listening to quite a bit of Joni, because after all, that's where we started. I always used to love this picture of a cheery, joyful morning full of love and sunshine. We don't always have rainbows on the wall, but the sun does pour in like butterscotch and we have milk and toast and honey. And a bowl of oranges too. And so very, very much more.
Ah, music.
Edited to add: Just one more. This one's for Maria, my college roommate and maid-of-honor who I think might even read my blog.;-)
