Out of the Wardrobe
Someone recently asked me if I'd be willing to give a conference talk about bringing creativity into the lives of my children. Quite frankly, my children's creativity leaves me speechless (sorry, couldn't resist the pun). Just this afternoon I sat here at the computer and I looked out the window and saw a Centaur.
This Centaur was trotting by at a rather brisk pace.

I shouldn't have been too surprised, because last night there was a Centaur in my cellar. Only that one was stationary.
Perhaps this Centaur is hanging around my house because of the Cyclops that has also been sighted.

There have also been some curious looking Dwarves spotted.
It is really very interesting around here. Last week, while I was in the kitchen cooking, I got that eerie feeling that I was no longer alone. I turned around rather suddenly to be startled by a Satyr.

He seemed rather harmless. At least for the moment.

Maybe King Edmund will come back to help get things sorted out. I haven't seen him recently, but he was here a while ago.

Did I mention that we are Narnia fans?

Maybe that explains things. Living Books indeed.

Wow, those are some amazing costumes! The creativity of the centaur, very good! I love the long-haired dwarves! And that satyr mask, who made that? Very sly and mysterious looking! What a fun household. Long live Aslan!

Oh, I loved this! You had me laughing with your commentary, but seriously, the costumes are wonderful. I want to show my family.

The satyr is Josiah-he made the mask himself and he did just appear in my kitchen. Jonathan is the Cyclops. They make the masks of paper maiche over a cardboard base. It is all their own doing. They have the LWW movie book, and yes, Louise, we just got back from the store with 5 rolls of tape. Cheryl, the commentary is entirely true. I was sitting here at the computer and I had no idea Josiah had figured out how to make a moving Centaur til I saw him go by!

Ditto to what Rebecca said. My sons are going to LOVE these. (Come to think of it, my 6-year-old daughter is a costume buff as well!)

WOW! Talk about amazing!
My oldest said that it must have been pretty tricky to make the chain mail. If he were to email your sons, could they tell him where to find instructions?

That is amazing. Although, their creativity doesn't surprise me at all. I've seen the work of their mother. :)
